Csaba Hefler, Ph.D.

Csaba is a post-doctoral research engineer from Hungary. He has broad range of professional and cultural experience. Graduated from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology his academic research was focused on fluid dynamics of low Reynolds flight for bioinspired applications in Micro Air vehicles (MAVs). He designed and built setups using cutting edge time-resolved laser Particle Image Velocimetry (TR-PIV), high resolution 3D direct linear transformation surface measurement with synchronized high speed cameras, and dynamic force measurements using multiaxis force-torque transducers. He spent his undergraduate studies in Budapest University of Technology and Economics to receive an MSc degree of mechanical engineering specialized in mechatronics. He spent exchange semesters as Erasmus scholar in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro), and Rome, Italy (Sapienza Universita di Roma) working on sustainable energy reseach using both experimental and numerical methodology. He also worked at General Electric Lighting (Budapest headquarter) on EU regulatory compliance of manufacturing and packaging. He also had an advisory role in a successful Hong Kong biomedical startup, Abida Medical Ltd. In our team he builds and tests the sensing unit. He also takes care of the company administration and strategic planning.

Angela Lui

Angela is a fresh graduate of computer science from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Angela has a strong background in programming as well as in multimedia editing and office applications, passionate about Ai and machine learning. In our team, she designs the user app and the cloud backed (Amazon AWS) auxiliary infrastructure of our measurement network.

Alice Tam

Alice is our wildcard. Alice is the Co-founder of spatial analytical start-up P-sense; non-profit student group Connextiar; and the technological association Hong Kong Student Blockchain Union. She has the necessary accreditations and working experience in banking, asset management, and financial consulting. She is an experienced public speaker and she finds her way around well in the startup ecosystem of HK as one of the associate members of Rookie Fund, a student led investment enterprise. In our team, she helps in fundraising, and brand promotion among other things.

Xiaohui Liu, Kate

Kate is a current PhD student of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Her research is focused on flight control and aerodynamics of insect scale flight. She has a strong background in experimental research methodologies. In our team, Kate is taking part in systems integration and hardware development. She also helps procurement of parts and supply chain planning.
